SUBJECT: Castle Courier Vol. 17, No. 5 - Sep 24, 2018

Volume XVII, Issue 5 - September 24, 2018

Our 1st graders had an amazing performance at our first PTA General meeting last week. A huge thanks to Mr. Isom for preparing the students for the performance and especially for teaching them why they rather be happy. If you need a little joy, please check out the video on our FB page. You won’t be able to stop smiling! A special thanks to our 1st grade teachers – Mrs. Fritz, Mrs. Mariani, Mrs. Rainwater, Ms. Taylor, and Mrs. Weaver - for their time and help with the performance.

It is Day One of our One & Done fundraising campaign. Our PTA only has ONE fundraiser each year, and we have tried to keep it simple with a check writing campaign. Your generous contribution of $60/student is how our PTA survives and thrives! I thought it would be beneficial if we showed you “where the money goes.” (Please see below.) As indicated, our focus is on enriching our children’s education and building connections within our community. In order to completely fund our current budget, we will need to raise $27,000 with an ultimate goal to raise $37,000 in order to fund special projects such as enhancements to the gaga ball pit (e.g. shade and fence) and purchasing additional playground equipment. THANK YOU TO EACH OF YOU WHO HAVE ALREADY DONATED! If you are able to contribute, please go to CHEPTA.net to donate online or you can submit a check (payable to CHEPTA) to your child’s teacher.

The PTA has a fantastic year planned. Please make sure to check our calendar on CHEPTA.net for upcoming events. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact me at president@chepta.net.

Truly,

Nina Samuel

The PTA Volunteer Program is one of the best ways that parents can support the students and staff at our school.

Please be aware that Board Policy requires that each volunteer undergoes a background check before working with students.  You will need to complete the background check during your VOLY account creation process. Go to VOLY now to get started:
