Castle Hills Reflections 2024- 2025
The Theme for 2024 - 2025 is “Accepting Imperfection”
Reflections has been a staple arts program in many schools for over 50 years. Through the efforts of Local PTAs, millions of students have found a creative outlet in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts.
With positive recognition as the focus of this program, rather than competition, students of all ages and abilities can experience the benefits of creative expression and help in finding their own voice in telling their unique story.
Started in 1969 by Mary Lou Anderson, then Colorado PTA President, Reflections has grown to be one of the largest nationwide programs of its kind, with more than 200,000 students participating annually.
Participation Eligibility
Reflections is a program offered to all Caste Hills Elementary (CHE) students who have a primary household member enrolled in the Castle Hills Elementary PTA for the 2024-2025 school year. See the official participation rules for additional eligibility information.
For questions regarding PTA membership, please contact membership@chepta.net.
Categories and Divisions
Students submit their original works of art in one or all of the available arts categories and participate in the appropriate division for their grade: Primary (Pre-K - Grade 2), Intermediate (Grades 3-5), and Accessible Arts.
There are six arts categories – dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and 2D visual arts. Students may enter the Reflections program in one or more arts categories with no limit to the amount of entries in a single category. See arts category rules for additional entry requirements.
Accessible Arts Eligibility
The National PTA Accessible Arts division is an option for students who identify as having a disability and may receive services under IDEA or ADA: Section 504 to have the opportunity and accommodations they may need in order to participate fully in the program. The division offers modified rules and guidelines to ensure that every student has the chance to be part of the National PTA Reflections® program. See the accessible arts division rules for more information.

Entry Process
All CHE entries will be submitted digitally online. The online Student Entry Form must be completed with contact information, a digital art submission, title, and artist statement. Please do not bring entries to school. They will be returned, and you will be asked to submit the entry online through the student entry form.
If you need assistance with technology needs that arise, please contact reflections@chepta.net.
Entry Due Date
Entries are to be submitted digitally online using the Student Entry Form no later than Wednesday, October 16th, 2024.
Finalist Selection and Notification
Entries are reviewed at local (school), council, state and national levels. Each PTA determines its own judges for the program. Entries will be judged primarily on how well the student uses his or her artistic vision to portray the theme, originality and creativity.
Under no condition may parents or students contact the judges to dispute the status of any entry.
Awards are announced at each level of judging at the Coordinator’s discretion. CHE finalists selected to advance to the council level will be notified in late November via email. Texas PTA award results will be posted on the Texas PTA website in March. National award recipients are notified via email by National PTA in May.
CHE Student Recognition
All CHE students that submit an eligible entry will be recognized in May at Dragon Awards. Students will receive a certificate, ribbon, and pin.
