Interested in being part of the WatchDOGS program at Castle Hills Elementary?

Here's how to get involved!

Background Check - If you do not already have a background check on file with LISD (the office will check, prior to your day of duty, to verify), use the following link to fill out the proper forms for the check. It takes about 10-15 minutes to do it all, and yes, it looks like you are applying for a job as a teacher. Plow right through that, and submit it. It takes about 1-3 weeks to process (and you do NOT get notified, unless you fail it), so get this one done as soon as you can!

(In the middle of the page, follow the steps under the "Volunteer Application" section)

Shirts - Buy your WatchDOGS shirt (that you will wear when you are on-duty) from the following site (pick from any of them; just make sure that it clearly states that you are a WatchDOG – that’s why we’re going to wear them on duty):
http://dogstore2.fathers.com/

Email - Send an email to CHEWatchDOGS@gmail.com, indicating that you would like to join the group. The WatchDOGS coordinator will add you to the email mailing list for the CHE Watch DOGS group, and you should receive a confirmation that you’ve been added (it will come from CHEWatchDOGS@googlegroups.com).

Show up - Get to CHE no later than 7:35am (school starts at 7:45am this year, and you have to be there before the 2nd bell, not the tardy bell). Head to the office to get signed in and get your agenda for the day (some days, certain teachers have specific requests of the Watch DOGS, so the agenda will change from time-to-time, but it will always include classroom time with your kids, lunch with them, and recess with them). Then head to the library, with your kid(s) for announcements, no later than 7:40.

Thanks for all of your help. This program cannot be a success without all of you. We hope that BOTH you and your kids have a lot of fun with this. It’s a blast, and we are looking forward to seeing all of you make Castle Hills Elementary a safer and more rewarding learning environment.

Sign up - Use the following link to go to the calendar and sign up for a day (or 10+):

You should be able to check a date, then click “Submit and Sign Up”, and it will then ask you for your information. You can create a signupgenius.com account then, too, to make it easier to get reminders/change your schedule/etc. Please pick an open date before doubling-up on a date with someone else, if possible. Also, remember you need both your background check and your t-shirt (as noted above), so you may want to schedule your first date a week or 2 out.
